About Carlo

Yoga and meditation have been a vital part of my life since 2008. Starting this journey at 49, after a hip replacement following years of chronic pain from a car accident, yoga and Buddhist meditation have been nothing short of transformative for me. Practicing almost every day since, I’ve found strength, peace, and healing in ways I never expected.

For over three decades, I worked in IT, but through volunteering with Samaritans, I realized my true calling was to help others directly. In 2014, I decided to make yoga and mindfulness my life’s work.

Today, I’m qualified as both a Yoga and Mindfulness teacher, and I’ve studied areas close to my heart, including Yoga for Addiction Recovery, Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and Adaptive Yoga. While most of my classes are open to all levels and abilities, I also offer chair-based yoga options for specific settings, such as care homes or adaptive needs.

I took the Buddhist Precepts at Samye Ling, receiving the name Karma Sonam Gonpo, and I’ve been vegan since 2011. I’m always happy to support anyone curious about this compassionate way of living.

Yoga for Everyone

Whether you’re joining me for a class in Mauchline, at My Yoga Place, Recovery Ayr, or exploring mindfulness for addiction recovery, I’m here to create a safe, supportive space for everyone, no matter where you’re starting from.
